What is a name?

I do have to mention the weirdest thing since being here has got to be the name changes. At work, which seems to be where we spend most of our time, I am referred to as Mrs. Linn. It has been a year since we have gotten married, but I wasn't called Mrs. Linn much. Now I hear it several times in a day and it is just weird. Even during the day all the staff refers to one another as Mr. and Ms. So hearing adults, most of whom are older than myself, calling me Mrs. Linn... just doesn't seem to fit yet.

However, not only does being called Mrs. Linn seem strange, calling Timmy by something more formal than Timmy is taking time to get used to. He is known to other staff as Tim, he introduces himself as Tim, therefore it seems that I must call him Tim. He is known to the students as Mr. Linn, so when around the students I call him Mr. Linn. It is strange to have a question for him and in order to get his attention I must say Mr. Linn because students are within earshot. I realized these things yesterday as a high schooler said Mrs. Linn and my thought was, what did you call me? Why? I am only 4 years older than you! (however in this case it was more like 7 because he is a freshman) Oh, how a name can mean so much!
