Middle School Swim Team

The Middle School Swim Team season is now over. Beginning in November, Tim, myself, and the aquatics assistant, Sam, coached about 50 swimmers on the swim team. Since there were so many swimmers, we had about 8 high school swimmers (mostly Freshman) come out and volunteer their time to coach the middle schoolers. They did a wonderful job. Tim would type up workouts and then the high schoolers would take the middle schoolers through each work out. The swimmers practiced 2-3 time a week for about a month and a half. During that month, they each got the opportunity to participate in 2 swim meets.

We held the first swim meet in our pool, which I posted about a few weeks back. Since then there have been 2 other meets. Since our team was so large we took 1/2 of them to the second meet at SFS, Seoul Foreign School, and the remaining half to the last meet at OSAN.

Every meet was a wonderful success! The swimmers seemed to have a wonderful time and at each meet we had swimmers dropping time, left and right... we had several drop up to 5 seconds! It was fun to watch them swim, however, several complained that it was harder this year than years in the past (Tim makes some difficult work outs).

We had some very busy nights because 1/2 way through middle school's season, we began pre-season training for high school. To our surprise we had close 15-20 swimmers come out for pre-season. If this is any glimpse of the high school season to come in January, I am excited!!!!
