International Night

Here at Yongsan International School of Seoul we have over 800 students who represent over 50 different countries. One week of the school year is declared International week at YISS. During this week different activities go on within the classrooms to recognize the different countries around the world (especially those countries from which our students come). For example in several parents will come into their child's class and give a small talk on what their home country is like. ~ within the first grade classroom that I work students come from over 5 different countries, including: Japan, Korea, USA, Sweeden, Brail, Norway, Australia, China, etc.

The Friday night of the International week, the school puts on International Night. They set up tents in the courtyard where parents make and sell authentic food from their country. In the Auditorium, students put on a show (run kind of like a talent show) of dances and songs from their country. It is amazing to see and really reminds us that we all have different backgrounds.
